World Premier of David Philip Hefti’s Gallicinium (June 2021)

David Philip Hefti’s Gallicinium – music for the fourth nocturnal vigil for wind quintet will now, after postponements due to corona, be premiered on 7 June 2021 at the Bläserserenaden Zürich. Hefti wrote the work for flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon as a commission of the Bläserserenaden Zürich 2020 and dedicated it to his wife for the birth of their second son.

David Philip Hefti and Mozart in Winterthur on SRF 2 Kultur (May 2021)

David Philip Hefti in the dual role of conductor and composer of two works can be heard on radio on SRF 2 Kultur on 3 June at 8 pm. The concert recording of 29 January 2021 from the Stadthaussaal Winterthur with the Musikkollegium Winterthur and Jürg Dähler on viola as soloist features Mozart’s Symphony No. 1 in E-flat major, the world premiere of Hefti’s Cantabile – Concerto for Viola and Orchestra, as well as his Adagietto for String Orchestra and Mozart’s Symphony No. 25 in G minor.READ MORE

David Philip Hefti’s “Con fuoco” livestreamed (May 2021)

David Philip Hefti’s 4th string quartet “Con fuoco” will be performed by the Amaryllis Quartet on Sunday, 16 May at 5 p.m. via livestream as part of the PUTBUS Festival 2021. This year’s festival theme Fire, originating in the general leitmotif which follows the four-year cycle of the four elements, plays an important role in this concert. The evening is called, after all, “con fuoco” – “with fire” in Italian. two milestones of the chamber music join the string quartet “con fuoco” by the Swiss composer David Philip Hefti, that makes the audience hear the fire-place crackle and shooting stars sparkle.
