At the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Omer Meir Wellber conducts a production of George Bizet’s opera Carmen today. The production staged by Calixto Bieito will be live streamed on Teatro Massimo TV. It was already performed in 2011 as a co-production of the Teatro Massimo and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Regio in Turin as well as the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and has been performed in various renowned European opera houses since then.
