Kent Nagano in Hamburg – current livestreams (November 2020)

On November 5, 6 and 7, 2020, at 8 p.m., concerts will take place in Hamburg with Kent Nagano and the Philharmonic State Orchestra Hamburg, without an audience due to the current pandemic. These concerts will be streamed live via the orchestra’s website and YouTube. The first performance will include the clarinet concerto “Adrift” by Matthew Ricketts with Philharmonic clarinettist Rupert Wachter as soloist and under the direction of Kent Nagano.

Omer Meir Wellber conducts the premiere of “Die Zauberflöte” (October 2020)

Omer Meir Wellber will lead the premiere of the new production of “Die Zauberflöte” on November 1, 2020. This grand opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was newly staged by Josef E. Köpplinger.

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Manfred Honeck on Classic FM (October 2020)

On 28 October at 9 pm on Classic FM – the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Manfred Honeck. The program includes the Polovtsian Dances from Borodin’s opera Prince Igor, before the Canadian violinist James Ehnes takes the podium for Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 and the Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Omer Meir Wellber back in Leipzig (October 2020)

Omer Meir Wellber returns to the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig with a special program. On October 25 and 26 he will present Eight Seasons together with the Sinfonietta Leipzig and the mandolinist Jacob Reuven. As one of the world’s preeminent soloists, the violinist Midori has been performing on premier stages around the globe for over 35 years. In his letter to Beethoven, conductor Kent Nagano takes himself back to the Hamburg of the composer’s time – and draws many parallels to the present day. What seems certain for Nagano even then: “Your voice will continue to sound in the hearts of our descendants for a long time to come.”
