Omer Meir Wellber at Teatro Massimo in Palermo and at the Bregenz Festival (July 2021)l

As part of the 2021 summer season, Omer Meir Wellber will conduct the ballet Giselle with music by Adolphe Adam at the Teatro di Verdura on 29 and 30 July. The performance is a tribute to Italian dancer Carla Fracci, who was best known for her interpretations of romantic ballets, including the title role in Giselle.

Under the direction of Davide Bombana, the Teatro Massimo Ballet Company will perform Patrice Bart’s choreography, which is based on the historic choreography of the 1841 premiere by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrit. Please find more information here.

On 8 August, Omer Meir Wellber will make his Bregenz Festival debut at the Festspielhaus. The concert programme includes Charles Ives’ The Unanswered Question, Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 6 in A major, and Richard Strauss’ Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra with the Wiener Symphoniker and oboist Ramón Ortega Quero. Midori at the 61st Weimar Classes 2021 (July 2021)

Midori will once again teach a group of young people in Weimar at this year’s master classes. From 23-31 July, the courses will take place for the 61st time in Weimar at the Hochschule Für Musik FRANZ LISZT and will include individual lessons, orchestra studio and participant concerts at the end of the course.

Jan Vogler at the 74th Festival de Cannes (July 2021)

Bill Murray, Cellist Jan Vogler, violinist Mira Wang and pianist Vanessa Perez present NEW WORLDS: THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATIONat the 74th Festival de Cannes.

As part of the Special Screenings, the music film will be shown at 8:45 p.m. CET on 16 July at the Théâtre Claude Debussy. In the film, the artists are accompanied on their shared musical journey, taking viewers on a special time travel through musical and literary history, including works by Bach, Beethoven and Shostakovich, as well as texts by Hemingway and Whitman. The film was directed by Andrew Muscato.

Francisco Fullana at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (July 2021)

Francisco Fullana will perform a concert at Schloss Bothmer with Tomomi Sato at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival with Schumann’s Sonata No. 2 in D minor for violin and piano, op. 121, and his Romance No. 2 in A major for violin and piano, op. 94. The Ensemble der Bothmer Musik will also perform Bach’s Concerto No. 4 in A major and Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor.

At the 3rd Chopin Festival Hamburg Mari Kodama gave a sonata recital, playing works by Chopin Ravel and Dutilleux.
The recital took place on 12 June 2021 and was broadcast live on YouTube.

CD release “Shades of Love” – David Philip Hefti conducts the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, with Philipp Jundt, Daniel Hope and Sebastian Knauer among others (July 2021)

On 9 July, Deutsche Grammophon releases Shades Of Love – Korean Drama Soundtracks, arranged orchestrally. The music will be performed by the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, conducted by David Philip Hefti. Soloists are Philipp Jundt, Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway (flute), Daniel Hope (violin), Albrecht Mayer (oboe), Richard Yongjae O’Neill (viola) and Sebastian Knauer (piano).
