Mari Kodama at the 3. Chopin Festival Hamburg (June 2021)

Mari Kodama will give a sonata recital at the 3rd Chopin Festival Hamburg on Saturday, 12 June 2021 at 8:15 pm. After the festival had to be cancelled last summer, it will finally take place and will also be broadcast live on the YouTube channel by the Chopin Gesellschaft Hamburg & Sachsenwald e.V.

Mari Kodama in a Livestream Concert (February 2021)

Mari Kodama, together with pianist Momo Kodama, violinists Sarah Nemtanu and Debora Nemtanu, and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) under Alexandre Bloch will play a livestream concert from Katowice on 12 February. The program will feature Poulenc’s Concerto in D Minor for Two Pianos and Orchestra and Martinů’s Concerto in D Major for Two Violins and Orchestra.READ MORE

Mari Kodama

Pentatone released two CDs by Mari Kodama last year. The solo CD Kaleidoscope – Beethoven Transcriptions with transcriptions of Beethoven’s string quartets for piano by Saint-Saëns, Mussorgsky and Balakirev as well as Beethoven’s variations of the finale of Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet. Then the duo CD MON AMI, Mon amour – French Repertoire for Cello and Piano with Matt Haimovitz, with works by Francis Poulenc, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy and Darius Milhaudso.

In December 2020, the world premiere of John Neumeier’s new ballet with Mari Kodama at the piano was scheduled, with a total of 13 performances of Beethoven Project II. More information about dates will be announced soon. Here you can already find some impressions.

Mari Kodama’s Album Launch (November 2020)

Mari Kodama will release the new CD “MON AMI, Mon amour – French Repertoire for Cello and Piano” together with Matt Haimovitz on November 6, 2020 on PENTATONE. The works of Francis Poulenc, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy and Darius Milhaud.

The vibrant musical palette of cellist Matt Haimovitz and the graceful insight of pianist Mari Kodama exquisitely meld in MON AMI, Mon amour.
