Herbert Blomstedt gives concerts with NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg and Lübeck (January 2018)

90-year old conductor Herbert Blomstedt gives concerts with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg and Lübeck. The concerts will take place in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg (11 and 14 January) and in the Congresshall in Lübeck on 12 January.

On the programm will be Bruckner’s Symphony No 3 in d minor as well as Mozart’s Symphony No. 39 in E flat major (KV 543).

The concert on 11 January will mark the first anniversary of the Elbphilharmonie.

Herbert Blomstedt conducts concerts with Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich (December 2017)

On 21 and 22 December Swedish conductor Herbert Blomstedt will be standing at the rostrum of Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich to conduct works by Mozart and Stenhammar.

Herbert Blomstedt conducts concerts in Dresden (December 2017)

Swedish conductor Herbert Blomstedt, who celebrated his 90. birthday in July 2017, will conduct two concerts with Staatskapelle Dresden on 15 and 16 December. The Conductor Laureate will perform Mozart’s piano concert in C major KV 503 as well as Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 KV 551 “Jupiter” with the orchestra. Pianist will be Martin Helmchen.

Herbert Blomstedt conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker (December 2017)

On 8, 9 and 10 December, Herbert Blomstedt will be a guest at the Berliner Philharmoniker. He will conduct Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 KV 488 and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 3.

Tour finish by Gewandhausorchestra and Herbert Blomstedt (November 2017)

A couple of days ago, the Gewandhausorchestra Leipzig conducted by Herbert Blomstedt finished their big anniversary tour in Europe and Asia, among others with Leonidas Kavakos.  During the tour the artists and audiences celebrated the 275. anniversary of the Gewandhaus orchestra, Herbert Blomstedt’s 90. birthday as well as Leonidas Kavakos’ 50. birthday, who was tour guest.

Mass in b minor: new DVD by Herbert Blomstedt and Gewandhausorchestra (November 2017)

Mid November the label accentus music will release the new DVD with Herbert Blomstedt and the Gewandhaus orchestra presenting Bach’s Mass in b minor. The recording was made in June 2017 in the Thomas church in Leipzig on the occasion of the Bachfest.

90-year old conductor Herbert Blomstedt and violinist Leonidas Kavakos are currently touring on a detailed world tour with Gewandhaus orchestra. The orchestra is celebrating its 275. anniversary in season 2017/18.

This week they are performing concerts in Paris, Luxemburg and Baden-Baden.

90-year old conductor Herbert Blomstedt and violinist Leonidas Kavakos will go on a detailed world tour with Gewandhaus orchestra in the beginning of October 2017. The orchestra is celebrating its 275. anniversary in season 2017/18.

Before the tour, the artists will have various concerts at Gewandhaus Leipzig, starting today, 28 September.
