From 15 – 18 June 2017 Omer Meir Wellber will conduct the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo.
On 15 – 17 June works by Paganini, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky will be on the program. During the matinée concert on 18 June he will conduct Tschaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony.
This Friday, June 9, 2017, the Mannheimer Gesellschaft für Neue Musik presents works by David Philip Hefti in a Portrait Concert in the gallery Zeitraumexit . The Amaryllis-Quartett plays together with Clarinetist Nikolaus Friedrich Hefti’s string quartet no. 1 “Ph(r)asen”, mourning music for basset clarinet and string quartet “Danse interstellaire” and string quartet no. 4 “con fuoco”. Conductor Herbert BLomstedt, who will celebrate his 90. birthday in July 2017, will conduct the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg on June 9 and June 11. On the program will be Bruckner’s symphony No. 5.
Herbert Blomstedt was Chief Conductor of the orchestra between 1996 and 1998.
The concert on June 9 will be broadcasted live on ARTE Concert at 8 p.m.
The concert on June 11 will be broadcasted live on NDR Kultur at 11 a.m.
In the beginning of June 2017 the Canadian ARC Ensemble will publish its new CD with the label Chandos.
The CD will pressent chamber music by the Polish French composer Szymon Laks.

On Friday, May 26, conductor Omer Meir Wellber will lead the premiere of the new production of Massenet’s Werther at Teatro Massimo in Palermo with the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo, staged by Giorgia Guerra.
The performances after the premiere will be on May 27, 28, 30, 31 and on June 1.

From 5 – 20 August 2017 the 25. Moritzburg Festival will take place.
Under the artistic direction of cellist Jan Vogler, the festival has established itself as one of the world’s leading chamber music festivals.
Every August, internationally renowned soloists and outstanding young artists from all over the world meet in idyllic Moritzburg near Dresden. Together they work on new interpretations of chamber music works and present them in dynamic, flexible formations.
On 5 August the opening concert will take place in Volkswagen’s “Die Gläserne Manufaktur” in Dresden, presented by the Moritzburg Festival Orchestra conducted by Josep Caballé Domenech. Violinist Mira Wang and violist Ruth Killius will play Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante E flat major KV 364.
Well-known musicians such as violinists Arabella Steinbacher, Ning Feng and Baiba Skride, violist Lawrence Power and pianist Lise de la Salle will follow the invitation to the Saxon idyll.
Composer-in-residence in 2017 will be Sven Helbig.

On 30 April 2017 cellist Jan Vogler, violinist Nicola Benedetti together with the Dresden Festival Orchestra conducted by Ivor Bolton played a concert in in the new Dresden concert hall of the Kulturpalast on the occasion of its opening.

Midori & Friends celebrated its 25th anniversary with a Dinner and Concert on Monday May 15th at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The evening included performances by Emanuel Ax, Heather Headley and Midori.
In August / September 2017 the PSO will go on Europe tour with Music Director Manfred Honeck.
From 28 August until 8 September 2017 they give concerts together with violinist Anne Sophie Mutter and Baritone Matthias Goerne, e.g. at Salzburg Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival or Luzerne Festival. Rainer Honeck, concert master of Vienna Philharmonics and brother to Manfred Honeck will be soloist of the concert on 1 September at Grafenegg Festival.
The tour will lead the orchestra to Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Romania and Switzerland.
It will be the 7. Europe tour of the PSO together with Manfred Honeck.
