Midori receives Great Immigrant honour from the Carnegie Corporation of New York (July 2019)

Midori has been named as one of the Carnegie Corporation of New York’s Great Immigrants for 2019. Every Fourth of July, the Corporation salutes 38 naturalised citizens who strengthen the United States’ economy, culture and communities.

The Corporation’s founder, Andrew Carnegie, was himself a naturalised citizen. He was born in Scotland and rose out of poverty to become one of the greatest contributors to American industry and philanthropy. He was a staunch advocate for immigration and the Great Immigrant initiative was founded in 2006 to honour his legacy. To date it has honoured nearly 600 individuals.
