Midori at the NDR-Sinfonieorchester (October 2012)
On 25 and 26 October, violinist Midori will be guest of the NDR Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach she will perform Hindemith’s violin concerto in Kiel and Hamburg. The Kiel concert will be recorded by the NDR, and broadcast on 26 October from 20 h. The work will be also be recorded for CD.
In the 2012/13 season, Midori celebrates her 30th anniversary on stage. In September she appeared in the TV show “arte lounge”.
In April 2013, she will play the world premiere of Peter Eötvös’ new violin concerto with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kent Nagano, dedicated to Midori and commissioned by the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the BBC Proms and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
European tours with pianist Özgür Aydin will take them to London, Istanbul, Bilbao, Würzburg, Stuttgart and Berlin. She will also perform with the Munich Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta, as well as in Italy and in Spain.
