Jan Vogler as Intendant – the 2026 Dresden Music Festival will start soon (May 2026)
Next week marks the start of the 49th edition of the Dresden Music Festival. From May 14 to June 14, a vibrant program awaits visitors, featuring internationally acclaimed ensembles and performers from the worlds of classical music, jazz, theater, and pop. You can find the complete festival program here.
The festival’s opening concert will feature the premiere of “Götterdämmerung,” the final part of the festival project “The Wagner Cycles,” in which one part of Wagner’s “Ring” has been staged each year since 2023. Cellist Jan Vogler and conductor Kent Nagano are responsible for the musical direction. Further information on “Götterdämmerung” can be found here.
Jan Vogler will also be performing as an instrumentalist at the Dresden Music Festival: On May 26, he will present Elgar’s Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra, Op. 85 as a soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Edward Gardner at the Kulturpalast in Dresden.
