“Midori plays Bach” on the German Record Critics’ Award’s „Quarterly Critics’ Choice 1/2018“ (February 2018)

The DVD “Midori Plays Bach”, released by Accentus in October 2017, was included in the German Record Critics’ Award’s (“Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik”) „Quarterly Critics’ Choice 1/2018“ (“Bestenliste”) in the category of “Concert & Documentary serious music”.

Midori in Munich, Stuttgart, Ansbach, Halle and London: Trio Tour with Jonathan Biss and Antoine Lederlin (January 2018)

In the second week of January, violinist Midori together with pianist Jonathan Biss and cellist Antoine Lederlin will be on a trio tour through Ansbach, Stuttgart, Munich, Halle and London.  They will play works by Beethoven, Schumann and Dvořák.

Midori in India with ICEP / Music Sharing (December 2017)

As every year in December, violinist and UN messanger of Peace Midori is currently travelling with Music Sharing’s International Coummunity Engagement Program (ICEP). This year she and the quartet consisting of herself and young musicians are visiting rural and otherwise underserved areas in India, followed by presentations in Japan in June 2018.

Midori presents special program with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn (November 2017)

On 10 and 12 November, Midori will present Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in the U.N. city Bonn together with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn under its new general music director Dirk Kaftan.

On 12 November, the concert will be accompanied by a talk about the political and social impact of music – a topic the U.N. messenger of peace Midori will have a lot to contribute to.

Midori on a Duo Tour with Ieva Jokubaviciute (October 2017)

In beginning November, Midori will be again in Germany, Austria and Poland for duo concerts with Ieva Jokubaviciute. They will play works by Hindemith, Brahms, Schubert und Enescu in Wiesbaden, Egestorf, Vienna and Wroclaw.

Midori plays Bach at Castle Köthen – DVD Release (September 2017)

In October, Midori’s recording of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin will be release on DVD and Blu-ray by the label Accentus. The pieces were recorded at Castle Köthen, the place where Bach wrote them.

The DVD/Blu-ray will contain interviews with Midori as well.
