Omer Meir Wellber with the MKO in Munich on Sunday (August 2020)

On Sunday, Omer Meir Wellber and the Munich Chamber Orchestra (MKO) will beginn their new concert season. In the Himmelfahrtskirche in Munich the concert will take place with a reduced audience and will be played two times. The Mandolinist Jacob Reuven will also be a guest at this concert and will play Vivaldi’s Concert for Mandolin. Together with him and the Sinfonietta Leipzig, Omer Meir Wellber will present a special program from Vivaldi and Piazzolla also at the harpsichord and accordion in October in Leipzig.

The concert is sold out, but it will be recorded by BR and broadcast on October 22. READ MORE

First series of The Music Room: Reflecting Beethoven set to launch online on Thursday 16 July, 9pm (CET)

The series features musicians from the BBC Philharmonic and special guests including Craig Charles, Maureen Lipman, Stephen Hough, Sally Beamish, Lorenzo Mariani, Fredun Mazaheri, Tom Redmond and Laura Tunbridge

The BBC Philharmonic is set to release “The Music Room” as of tomorrow 16 July weekly, a filmed online in-conversation series hosted by Chief Conductor Omer Meir Wellber that begins by exploring each of Beethoven’s nine symphonies.READ MORE

Omer Meir Wellber at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo: ARTE Concert presents Ella Milch-Sheriff’s The Eternal Stranger and Beethoven’s Mass in C Major on 5 July (July 2020)

The festival Sotto una nuova luce of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo “opens” the cultural scene in Palermo after the Corona shutdown with scenic performances at the Teatro as well as open air events at the Teatro della Verdura – Omer Meir Wellber conducts the choir and orchestra of the Teatro Massimo. Ella Milch-Sheriff’s monodrama “The Eternal Stranger” is followed ‘attacca’ by Beethoven’s Mass in C major. The concert will be streamed on ARTE Concert as well as Radio 3 RAI and Teatro Massimo TV LIVE on 5 July at 9:30 pm (MESZ). Omer Meir Wellber and Hilary Hahn on ARTE Concert (March 2020)

On Sunday, 15 March at 17:40 on ARTE Concert – Omer Meir Wellber and Hilary Hahn will present Johann Sebastian Bach’s violin concertos with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in the church of Saanen.

Omer Meir Wellber conducts premiere at the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig (February 2020)

Omer Meir Wellber will conduct a work commissioned by the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig on 20, 21 and 23 February: the monodrama The Eternal Stranger by Ella Milch-Sheriff, which found its inspiration on the occasion of Beethoven’s anniversary and deals with the various facets of foreignness. The programme also includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 and Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Concerto for Violin, Piano and Orchestra, whereby the violin is played by Jacob Reuven on the mandolin – so to speak as an “immigrant” into a Central European piece of music.READ MORE
