Omer Meir Wellber and the WDR Symphony Orchestra at the opening concert of the Klavier-Ruhr Festival (May 2026)

On May 7, Omer Meir Wellber will conduct the WDR Symphony Orchestra in the opening concert of the Ruhr Piano Festival. Featuring Yulianna Avdeeva as soloist, the program will open with Béla Bartók’s Concerto No. 3 for Piano and Orchestra. Following that, Omer Meir Wellber will also appear as an instrumentalist on the accordion: Together with Guy Minus and Jacob Reuven, he will present Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto”, originally composed for piano, violin, cello, and orchestra, in an arrangement by Guy Mintus for piano, mandolin, accordion, and orchestra.

The concert will be broadcast on WDR3 on June 2, 2026, at 8:03 p.m.
